Game Background
There are millions of video games on the planet, and Shadow Madness is one of them.
A few years ago, gamers who claimed to play RPGs strictly "for the plots" were put to the test by Ted Woolsey and Craveyard. To no one's surprise, they failed miserably. While Craveyard descended into the pits of game developer hell, and the reviewers took turns laughing at the horrible attempt at a graphical ripoff of Final Fantasy VII, the gaming public was left with what can only be considered the ugly nerd girl of Role Playing Games. While she wasn't much to look at, and things were a little unomfortable when you tried to play her, she ultimately had a very smart plot and endearing characters that you didn't want to let go of when the...date ended.
Wait...that metaphor is all wrong. I hate this.
At any rate, this website is about Shadow Madness, the only game to be released by Craveyard, and the last game project that Ted Woolsey was ever involved in. If anyone would have played it, it would have raised the bar for plotlines in video games and paved the way for American RPG developers. Instead, it singlehandedly doomed the genre to the hands of the Japanese (succeeding where Secret of Evermore and Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest failed).
Above, you'll find a brief plot summary, profiles for the characters, and an HTML version of the important bits of the instruction booklet that came with the game.. This section is for the most part supposed to be spoiler free like you care.
